The Failures That Taught Me Everything
My first startup failed spectacularly. Not because the product was bad—we had genuine traction and users who loved what we built. We failed because I couldn't navigate the funding landscape.
The feedback was always the same: "Great product, but we don't understand the market timing." Meanwhile, I watched inferior products with better-connected founders raise millions. That failure taught me that success isn't just about building great products—it's about understanding the invisible networks and market signals.
The Revelation at the Incubator
My second attempt led me to a top-tier accelerator. Suddenly, I had access to the insider knowledge I'd been missing. I learned which investors were actively deploying capital, which sectors were heating up, and how to read market signals.
But here's what shocked me: even inside this elite program, most founders were still flying blind. The real intelligence was locked away in partner meetings and private conversations. That's when I realized the problem wasn't just access to investors—it was access to intelligence.
